Filmmaking / Directing : You can do ANYTHING you want if you WORK HARD ENOUGH! by Sam Borowski

You can do ANYTHING you want if you WORK HARD ENOUGH!

Today is the Anniversary of this shot: Getting Ready to direct Natasha Lyonne in my feature film, Night Club. The same Natasha Lyonne who a little over a month ago was No. 1 on the IMDb starmeter. You can do ANYTHING you want if you put your HEART and your MIND to it! But, you still have to be smart, folks. NOT someone who's quick with the wit on the boards or in a private message. That gets you nowhere. Working HARD. Building your contacts. Building relationships. Hustling. Along with a dash of talent ... you go far. GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH!

THANKS Evan! <3

David Whelan

Great stuff Sam!

Ted Doolittle

Totally agree. And I keep running into the message: build relationship. Thank you.

Thanks, David! And, Ted, and I mean this as practical advice for EVERYONE, myself included, not to belittle anyone. It's very poignant what you just said, because many who wish to be in this business - and even a few on this site - don't really know how to build a relationship. And, sadly, they have no interest in learning how to do so. Also, and consider this more practical advice: don't resist the chance to get help from someone who can help you, advance your career or help you meet other contacts. You have to build your own army to take over Hollywood. Or as Dan MaxXx says, "Build your own Tribe." By doing these things, you put yourself ahead of the game.

Dan, not yet. We have been offered Foreign, but there was a hold-up with Domestic Distribution for reasons I can't go into, however, looks like Theatrical late this year, followed by Foreign and eventually DVD/BLU-RAY and online. Been a long-time coming with this one. ;) I have a feature-length documentary I wrote and produced with Oscar-Winner Benicio Del Toro that is currently available via DVD and BLU-RAY online. I think you'd really like that one. "Creature Feature: 60 Years of the Gill-Man," and while you didn't hear it from me, you can get it cheap on DeepDiscount.com - much cheaper than Amazon or Barnes and Noble or TCM.com or the other sites. Check it out! GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH! ;)
