Financing / Crowdfunding : Deals with investors. by Danny Villanueva Jr.

Deals with investors.

I'm new to the business side of filmmaking and am currently producing a feature-length ultra-low budget film. I have upcoming meetings with potential investors and wanted to know what are fair, common deals to offer in terms of investment returns and shared profits? Thank you.

Seriously, you need the advice of a producer/LP, based on your actual project, not the opinions expressed on a message board expressed with no knowledge of your proprietary information. This is not free, but need not be over expensive either. Add me/message me, I have 20+ years producing in industry and entertainment law background.

Deals vary greatly, Danny, depending on things like how much of the budget you yourself are providing, your track record, quality of the script, etc. Start by asking yourself "Why should an investor trust me?" Work backwards from there.
