Editing Software for Older Computers

Hello, I'm looking for suggestions for good FREE editing software that can still work on older computers running Windows 8. My computer with Windows Vista finally died and I had acquired a used computer that runs Windows 8. I've been dying to get my mitts on some editing software for years, but of course nothing has been running on Vista for many years now so had to go without. Now that I have at least Windows 8, I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that would run on that version. I've already tried DaVinci but apparently that program needs Windows 10 so it just crashes on my computer whenever I try to use it..

Avid Media Composer Free works on Win 8 Pro. Check the specs to see if your computer meets the criteria.

Thanks. Unfortunately this is not a professional or enterprise version just straight up 8.1 and 6.00GB installed RAM so probably couldn't run. Unfortunately can't get a new computer until after I get a new job. But bookmarking it maybe try on the roommate's computer. Problem with getting used computers, they may not always be decked out the way they should be, but it was free and my old one died. lol

Okay, try Avid Free DV. It was discontinued a long time ago. Used it way back, and the requirements should be far less. I believe it was coded to run on Win XP. On Win 8, it can run in Compatibility mode. How to link below.
