Hello, I am a Nashville based filmmaker currently focusing on screenwriting. I’m currently planning a trip to LA this summer to meet with a few people. Usually when I make this trip I alternate between couch surfing with friends and staying at a hostel, but another friend plans on being out there 3 out of the 5 weeks I’m there so we’re trying to find a place together, especially since we know many of the same friends and don’t want to be a burden. Does anyone know of good resources to look for a short term rental other than Airbnb and VRBO? Or know how to find someone who needs a house sitter? We can both provide references from people we’ve house sat for as well as character references in the industry. I have a few options to explore but want to look into every option. Thanks in advance!

Erik Jacobsen I am looking into AirBnB and. VRBO, the point of my post was to see what other options and resources are out there. Artist community housing, people going on vacation during their hiatus and want to save money on pet care, people with guest houses that open them up to others in the industry, etc. Those are things that aren't advertised online or on websites so I'm trying to expand my search beyond my immediate networking circle.

You don't often see 'affordable' and 'LA' used in the same sentence anymore. A Hostel or maybe the 'Y' might work.
