LiveTree - new Online Film Festival

LiveTree.com have launched a new concept in audiences watching and participating financially in film and television productions. They have also launched a free to enter on-line film festival. I’ve only just come across this and haven’t yet had time to research it, but with a 1st September deadline I thought that some members may like to look for themselves

Seems like an initial page for yet another crypto-coin offering. You cannot actually join or get any real info about it - by inserting your email they only send you a note that they will get back to you if you are accepted to join... weird.

Love to hear what you get to see if you are accepted!

An invitation to a 7 day free trial to watch... I don't see any indication of what it costs though and don't go further on such things when those numbers are not up front (as they are not here).

They’ve apparently now fully launched so may be better. If you’re interested, their PR lady is Danni on dw@livetree.com

I looked at their business model - it basically skirts the edge of legality - it's probably against SEC regulations in the USA and Canada as it uses a cryptocurrency token to at as a security. That's already been confirmed to be a security and have to go through SEC approvals. So their stated intention of "allowing" people to invest in a film without the hassle of lawyers etc. is likely to attract the wrong kind of attention from regulators.

If it's not up front then usually best to ignore.
