Call for support for filming youth series on Vlieland.
By Jan Houter.
This project involves a TV series based on the books by Jolling Luinenburg from Harlingen. They are "young adult detective books."
The story is about four young detectives. Their first story is set on Vlieland. During an evening stroll on the beach at camping site Stortemelk, Karen, a girl with a sixth sense, sees a man standing on top of the North Sea dune. To whom does he refer and what does he pass on? And what does all this have to do with the sunken ‘Lutine’? It seems that the friends can quietly camp on Vlieland.
The project to realize a TV series started when director/producer Francisco Campos-Lopez came into contact with Jolling Luinenburg, for adapting his literary works to TV. The concept and the work of Luinenburg immediately caught the attention of Campos-Lopez. His company, Magen Entertainment LLC, acquired the international rights to make a TV series.
Campos-Lopez: "It was love at first sight when I received the book on my desk. It was exactly in line with what I want to produce and direct. It has all the elements for an international audience and moreover, the adventure takes place on the beautiful island of Vlieland. A unique place, I went there especially for it this spring. So this offers a huge opportunity to put the island on the map of the iconic places in this world! ”
Francisco Campos-Lopez is a director/producer from Chile, but he has been living in the United States for more than 10 years. He is also the founder of the production company Magen Entertainment. His first feature film "I Did Her Wrong" was highly praised in Europe. This film also earned him the "Best Awards" in 2018. Since then, Francisco has focused on preparing his upcoming films and this Vlieland project will mark his debut in fiction TV series.
During a telephone conversation with him from his home in Washington DC, he enthusiastically explains why he decides to adapt the work of Jolling Luinenburg for a TV series.
“I felt the need to further develop the story and the concepts. The characters are so lovable that you can't really imagine seeing them and experiencing their adventures in 90 minutes. The characters are at an important age, they are teenagers, and I want the audience to see them grow in a way to embrace their journey together. That is why a TV series is more logical this time. "
Francisco now focuses first on finding investors to finance the project and on conversations with Dutch production companies to set up a partnership. If you want to know more details about the film project and are also interested in support or as an investor, contact Francisco Campos-Lopez:
