Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend! I am a writer and producer in Santa Clarita, CA. I'm currently working on a series set in the 1980s that revolves around the rise of the designer drug scene. We have a sizzle reel shot and are starting to pitch it.
I also have a short film that I'm planning to crowdfund next month to shoot this fall, so I would love to meet anyone who had a successful campaign and would like to share their tips.
Finally, I've been doing research work (legal research and finding/organizing news footage) for a big budget feature this summer and I absolutely love it. Would enjoy doing a lot more of it!
I would particularly like to AP under an experienced line producer and learn more about that role. I did it on a student film and loved the challenge of staying under budget and bargain hunting. I can't work for free, but I can work at low budget rates. If you'd like a very well organized paperwork person (many years as a paralegal before this) on board your project, please message me. I can travel if it's paid for and I have excellent recent references.
If anyone up in Santa Clarita/Acton/Palmdale wants to form a writer's group, I'd be very interested. They always seem to be on the West side and that's a nightmare drive for me.
