Introduce Yourself : You Me Us We by Matt Bandas

Hi, everyone. I'm brand new to the entertainment world and it's kinda crazy the way I got here. I had been attending a new age church and trying to figure out what my purpose in life is. You know, "Why am I here?" I knew I was supposed to do something special, but I didn't know what. I meditated on it and all I got back was, "Have patience, have patience, have patience..." Then one morning as I was snapping myself out of dosing off, I heard, "It's literally going to fall into your lap." It was like right in my ear. And it was weird because it sounded like my mom. So after about four months attending this church, two church members who are producers announced a new sitcom that they were developing and they needed talent. The show, besides being incredibly funny, was very adventurous, taught good life lessons, and promoted health and well-being. My kind of project. This was it. I found what I was seeking. I knew I could act, but I had no experience or training. But I signed up anyway and went to their first meeting with my knees knocking. I felt so out of place. Everyone was talking about the shows they had been in or classes they had taken. All I could do was listen. I had nothing to contribute. So I started taking acting classes and was told I had something special. They couldn't quite put their finger on it. It was just something they saw and felt. Moments like that show me that I'm on the right path. After two years of classes, I started auditioning, and within two and half months I booked three student films and just recently got cast in my first feature film. Though that sitcom I mentioned hasn't yet come to fruition, something special is unfolding and it has brought me here. Filmmakers and anyone in the entertainment industry are very powerful. Through our creative work, we teach, shape minds, inspire, and expose the wrong in society so it can be healed. I have found my mission. What an awesome job we have!
