Short Budget Indie Movie looks like it is going to be in the works.

Hello All

This is a message to announce that I have officially, after years of struggling to get my script produced, heck even to land an agent, for my script www.thelastfriendsofwilliecoyote.com. has failed. It is going on the back burner for now and for problably a long time, for a variety of reasons. (no agent being one of the more relevant stumbling blocks). I have spent the majority of my time here on the screenwriting blog of this website and got a lot of good advice, I hope that the same occurs here. Basically, it would take millions to make Wile E. come alive again and make the film work the way I envision, plus this would have to be with the permission of Warner Bros., who own the t.m. rights.

My intention now just to make my own movie, if possible, with my own money. It will be a short (50 minutes) roughly indie budget film partially shot in the USA, mostly shot in the Philippines. This is not to announce a general "casting call" at present, as I just found my old screenwriting software, and, if it is still relevant or any good, THIS TIME I am going to write the story first in a rough draft, THEN write the script. I hope to land somewhere between a youtube-only movie to a dvd release version only, to be pessimistic and optimistic at the same time, with the slim hope it will do better than that. I am sick of dealing with people that cannot or see my old vision when a certain fortune and success is staring them right in the face.

The fools! They called me mad... mad! I'll show them... I'll show them all! (insert mad scientist laugh). Yah, the idea of seeing the FIRST fully LIVE-ACTION movie of what the eventual fate of Wile E. and a roadrunner long after their cartoon series ended is not nearly appealing to seeing the 8th sequel of Ironman or whatever it is up to by now and the dozen or so other classic cartoon or action tv series of similar characters or genres conversion to live action and their dang sequels, right? Take your pick... Ironman, Transformers, Wonder or hero whatevers , heck even the Flintstones had such a conversion done. I am being sarcastic about that last bit. Or maybe my script or concept just sucked, or I lacked the "references". A Nellis animation to live action award does not cut the mustard. I am not bitter, just disillusioned. So I am not waiting on the studio or agents any more, nor am I writing any more dang query letters. If I do, being exited from my home feet first and at room temperature is a much more realistic outcome.

I am so beat up from my efforts on the concept to get a coyote and roadrunner alive again, but this time in live-action, that I am surprised that I even want to do another project.

I am going to need a lot of help and advice on this one. The budget will be from $60,000 - up to about $200,000. It depends on how much I want to shed or sell from my previous life. I have, in reality, little to lose except money, which will do me no good once I am dead, but I do intend on having my boots on when I go. Whether I gain anything remains to be seen.

Whether I can use anybody from this site remains to be seen, however, I have a most open mind about anything and expect to make a lot of mistakes, which seems to be the only way I learn ANYTHING.

Anyways, that's it for the "big" announcement. The title is (the) "Gold Diggers".

One more thing... I just dumped over 100 network requests that were apparently shotgunned to me in the last few month. No offense, but I do not accept requests from anybody who does not have a bio, concrete contractors, screenwriters, aspiring rappers, authors, people who cannot spell out their bios in English, wall or home constructor contractors, drug rehab consultants or anybody that advertises their products or services that have nothing to do with filmmaking, cat sitters or just about anybody else who does not live either in the USA or Philippines, etc., so please go onto someone else. No offense. Less than a quarter of the movie will be produced on the west coast in California, the remainder will problably take place either in Manila or Baguio in the Philippines or other suitable location there during the winter in cool climates and areas during the cooler months. I have already left enough of my sweat in the Philippines and do not intend to suffer the hot weather there during production.

Please understand that I am way too early in the process for any casting calls for immediate use, however, please in the meantime send me your requests. In the future I may be able to use:

3d and / or spx people, voice actors or narrators, film production crews and/or companies based either in the USA or Philippines who have a website, scene designers and constructors based in the Philippines, those who have made or made their own independent films that have made it off of youtube, production, producers, producer assisters, music composers, actors, actresses, etc.

If you have a website and / or being based in the Philippines and in a single-stop or somewhat close to that movie production business for most if not all aspects of movie production is a BIG help as I would, if possible, be able to physically talk and work with a live person right next to me. I want to SHOW a person what I want, or SEE OR HEAR what they can offer either in services IN PERSON and / or advice other than do guesswork and avoid random internet back and forth chatter, if at all possible.

And it will be about 4 weeks to about 4 months before I can use anybody like that, as I need to write the script first and then look for help later, so feel free if you fit the above or similar fields in the area of indie film making, please send me a request and I will get back to you if the opportunity presents itself. Thanks... Stephen Thor
