Merry Christmas everyone from the frozen plains of Texas! I'm currently finishing up the rough draft of my second screenplay which is a Western biopic, with a female lead. I would love to meet other writers and actors who love westerns. I'd be eternally grateful for any advice on Studios or producers that I could pitch the project to this spring.

Hi, Richard. I'm a western buff. I write (modern day) westerns and dramas, set in Oregon's high desert country. You can see a short film I just posted on my profile (I hope). Happy to share notes.

Right there with you all. My novels are not really Westerns, though they all think they are. But, I do like the West as a setting.

Hey Richard, This year we went to the Wild Bunch Film Festival in Willcox, Arizona. It was very good fun and guess who had a film in that festival: John Carter Cash. I dang near sat on his daddy's hat in the theater. They just opened for submissions. And both my partner, Lesley, and I entered scripts. After the fest we had a tour of Mescal, a location run by Old Tucson where they filmed so many iconic westerns!

Philip, a friend of mine had a short film at the Wild Bunch Festival, Jay Pennington. He said it was a great festival. I hope to enter my script in the competition next year. Sounds like a blast.
