I've been on Stage 32 for years but rarely post and it's been quite some time since I've generally introduced myself.
I'm a Florida-based director, screenwriter, and SFX person. I took some time off of SFX in order to tour festivals with the films I directed, but this year I'd like to get back into doing what got me into film-making in the first place. I usually work in the horror, fantasy, and dark comedy genres.
Attending a lot of festivals as a film director and screenwriter over the past several years has taught me a lot, particularly identifying ones that genuinely care about the film-makers and ones that are just cash cows for the organizers. Currently I am the co-organizer for two different festivals with the goal of growing them into decent networking and promotional opportunities for film-makers.
I have a few feature screenplays that do well in competitions but not so well in actually finding financing to get into production, so I'm in the process of novelizing them to at least get the stories out there while I continue the efforts to find investors.

Hi Shiva! Name's Ivan and it is nice to meet you. I love dark horror and relative genres of film thereof. Perhaps as much as you do. Funding for film sounds and is critical but i don't think anything has to be and Novelising your works comes across as good strategizing. Apart from werewolves, do you create vampire themed works as well? Those two seem to go well together actually...
