Hi :)
I'm Mirella, screenwriter, author, and published economist based in Milan, Italy. Passionate about all things film and sports, I rewrote my YA novel "Soccer Sweetheart" as a Teen Romance Movie transposing the book's characters and events from the Italian Montagues and Capulets land, where my dad's side of the family is from, to the Napa Valley, Northern California.
My background as a screenwriter is unconventional. It's been a process. It has taken time and perseverance, but along the way I started to build the foundation to eventually write that special screenplay and break into the Entertainment Industry. Loosely based on my YA romance book, DON'T KISS JULIET GOODBYE film tells the story of two young lovers on the surface more different than alike, perfect together and incomplete when apart, who discover their own selves in each other.
Be persistent in writing, take all the time with the material to make it as strong as it can be, and have the courage to dream big. Doors that are worth entering are usually closed, so knock at those doors and keep knocking on doors until someone opens up. That's the best advice I can give anyone like me.
