I've not been nearly as involved here on Stage 32 as I should have been, and I want to correct that here and now. I feel so privileged to be a part of this wonderful and vibrant network of like-minded artistics.
I have my current 27-page short "Hide Tide Line" submitted to seven contests, with four more submissions planned before March 15. I am VERY excited about "High Tide Line" (HTL) which I truly feel is going to be my break-out spec. I just have this feeling 2020 is my year to at last launch my screenwriting career.
I'm pleased with HTL, which I feel I have successfully risen to a professional level after three coverages and seven drafts (man, oh, man, is the current draft DIFFERENT from the first one!! — the protagonist's name remains the same, and that's about it — I re-read that first draft yesterday, and the term "cringe-worthy" kept coming to mind).
Scott Parisien, over at Script Reader Pro, is currently mentoring me on a feature-length spec which I feel has potential (but needs LOTS — that bears repeating: LOTS!!! — of work). I'm excited about this mentorship, the kind of apprenticeship you just don't see much anymore in various professions (when, a couple of centuries ago, and still in many places around the world, apprenticeships were the way to coach along the next generation).
Well, enough about me — let's talk about me now. (Just joking, just joking.) Seriously, thanks so much for allowing me this introduction, and please do not hesitate to post a reply. I'd love to hear from you.
Best to all of us, and may this be OUR year for all of us!!
Warmest regards, your fellow creative, Kerry
I thought everyone would enjoy the poster I created for HTL. Thanks!
