Hey oh! Canadian-American (with parents who hail from sunny South Africa). OK, so, yeah, sure, I've had screenplays place at the Austin Film Festival ("Time to Time," a sci-fi short, the most recent) and other competitions, plays have been published and produced, and my work has a dark comedic sense of humor in there somewhere, and, yep, I love Guinness and I've been lucky enough to drink Guinness at St. James Gate Brewery in Dublin, but here's the thing that's on my mind: Has anyone seen "Contagion"? If you have, holy crapoly, isn't it close to what's happening with the C-virus? Screenwriter Scott Z. Burns and director Steven Soderbergh just nailed it, don't you think?
Watched Contagion just a few nights back. Prescient, to say the least.
From one scribe to another, fantastic to have you in the mix. Not sure if you've connected with him yet, but be sure to reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, at J.Mirch@stage32.com and let him know what you're writing (or what you have in the drawer). He loves connecting and working with our writers.

Agreed, contagion was on the money. I was at the pharmacy the other day, not knowing what to expect and told the pharmacist that people were a lot more civilized than in the movies. She said, "Well, we've had a few incidents". Lots of panic, I guess. But generally the world is never as shiny as hollywood makes it out to be.
I've seen a few things...But now is the time to keep civil, be aware and to be a human collaborator.

Indeed, this is the time to be civil. Real life hasn't gone as far as "Contagion" took it, but if it catches up with the movie, well, let's just say, we know what's coming.
