Writing Battle Scenes of the LOTR/Braveheart ilk...

I hope I'm doing this correctly...with all the "free" time available, I would like to get opinions and guidance as to the essential ingredients for writing battle scenes (medival/LOTR/Braveheart-type) ...what are some good scripts to read for structure of the action?....is there an unwritten law as to how battle scenes should be done?...inquiring minds want to know....Thx! "1917" script is online. Very simple description sentences. Maybe being a writer-director gives you an advantage winning over Readers.

"Dunkirk" (another writer-director) is full of blank spaces, 82 pages total. Sparse description

"Bourne" scripts are written in the same way/tone as the finished movies.

I think "The Matrix" is one of the best scripts. Every sentence is basically a camera shot.

Try and keep them simple I would imagine. I haven't written fantastic battles of that kind but I've worked through some complex action scenes. Write it to your satisfaction and then re-read it to pare it back.
