I checked out, "The Bottom Line". It looks like an interesting story. I've worked in broadcasting for most of my life and I've worked with several station Managers who wanted to soften our newscasts, replacing the "bad news" with just "good news stories". It didn't make much sense to me at the time but they were the Managers. (Those two stations eventually failed miserably.)
