We are an Indie studio in New England near Boston and have been shut down for studio and location shooting since March 1st. Looking forward to resuming shooting when things are safe to do so for our cast and crew.
Our basic criteria for resuming is:
1. What mainstream/Hollywood is doing as they have good information from their insurance companies when the moratorium can be lifted;
2. The guidelines set by our state governor as to this, now that Team Trump has basically bailed out as far as national leadership and are leaving the states to fend for themselves (insert your favorite derogatory remark here).
3. What our lawyers say as far as when liability is safely reduced for us as a producer.
What criteria are on your list?
Thank you SO much for that Dan MaxXx!!!! Very helpful info from "the big boys" with big legal and insurance departments!
As soon as I find a small crew of knowledgeable/capable crew - not one day sooner.
Dan MaxXx Thanks for those .
Even though I've been working every day ("essential" industry - truck driving), and through consistent observation and study of the FACTS which say that this "pandemic" has NEVER been as dire as the media reports (but that's another conversation), I think that ANY production moving forward before there's a vaccine is dangerously premature.
Social distance and self-sanitation work. And these are nearly impossible to maintain on a set. Sure Lionsgate (and the other big boys) puts out these detailed guidelines - which WILL NOT be maintained after the first day or two of shooting (I've seen too many instances in my job that say human nature will drive complacency VERY quickly). And indies? Forget about it. They won't have the money to take such measures.
So any production, no matter how "conscious" they are of the risks, that moves forward before a vaccine can only be motivated by money.
Money ALWAYS begats compromises.
OMG Dan MaxXx Are you reading the same chains in LinkedIn that I am?! I was just about to post Lionsgate's new guidelines! LOL! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mh36SKZavXH5DCSjbmb0ZBWwfUSc8E8n/view?f...
Although small independent crews have still found ways - Jim Ross, a new member here, has been doing a series on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuVjEJRuq9k&t=21s
