One of my favorite feelings is finding things I want to shoot with the drone, prowling around looking for an inconspicuous place to set up and get the drone in the air, and then the rush that comes from flying/trying to get shots. When you are trying to do complex flight motions and camera pans its extremely difficult. For one if they aren’t completely smooth then they are disconnecting to the viewer. For two you are often covering hundreds of feet of flying in a single shot, so manipulating your sticks on the flight controller needs crazy precision over a long span of time. Often my fingers will start to shake on their own while doing these motions. You can also pan the camera up and down, resulting in three different directions of focus. PLUS you control the speed of all of the above. It’s a lot. You don’t HAVE to worry about the shots motion if you don’t want to, but I want @adetroitfilm to be as cinematic as a run’n’gun documentary can be.
