Yes, any project that is selected by Netflix for development will be owned by Netflix.

If Netflix selects my project, will I be paid?

Yes, the writers of selected projects will be paid the then-current minimum scale set forth in the WGA Minimum Basic Agreement.

Can't expect every spec going to production. Does that mean full MBA pay regardless? Probably not. Corporations pay in steps.

Dan MaxXx That's ringing a few alarm bells for me. My spec (oh, how I loathe that term) is based on my novel, to which I legally own the rights. How will I know I won't get screwed over?

I can't wrap my head around the jargon in the agreement, it's just too complicated for me.

Oh please. People pay money hand over fist to get scripts read by nobodies and then throw more money to pitch.

And we are complain that working with netflix may only get you paid minimum... LOL

CJ Walley just my theory but I think this deal will equal $40,000, the same payment as previous Imagine fellowships. $40,000 for about 12 weeks of your time.

I talked to a writer who got a $10,000 option from Amazon when they were seeking specs. After 12 or 18 months of rewrites and development, Amazon decided not to renew the option. He got back the rights of his screenplay.
