Re-re-re Intro

Greetings Comrade Creatives!

Having been on Stage32 for some time now, it's great to watch the site grow and the new connections showing up. I must say that with all the social media out there, S32 has been the best resource! Of course, a main part of the success of Stage32 is the unbelievable coolness of R.B. and Amanda. You gotta love those two!!!!!

Here's to everyone being and remaining safe during the crazy pandemic era. Here's to safe sets and awesome production and creation regardless!

Like everyone, it's been a time to hunker in the bunker and crank out whatever work can creep through the creative corners of the cranium. During this era I've had scripts get into five film festivals. All canceled or postponed. Results of three of those fests unknown and unlikely to happen soon.

However, one of the scripts, a short entitled ZAP!, won the Phoenix Film Festival. As soon as festivals that offer production prizes announce what they want to do with this script, I'll make a decision as to how I'm going to shoot this film. Possibly it will be my directorial debut! Actually there's a place on our property in Tucson to shoot the film, and we might... as soon as the insane curve of COVID-19 incidences in Arizona flattens we, that is. It's out of control here. As are the wild fires and the summer gnats that continuously fly up my nose as I write. Anyway, ZAP! will be happening!! Oh by the way, this script came to me in a dream.

I managed to write two features so far this year. A drama about defending truth at all costs and a RomCom in which the obstacle the newly-minted couple encounters is out of this world... literally... and I mean that literally. Extra-terrestrial intervention equals relationship reconsideration.

And now I'm working on a new concept. It's that time where those random thoughts go all Carrie Mathison on legal pads and the walls in view of your computer station.

Part of my thing is being a work-for-hire writer. If I can help construct a concept, be a set of eyes, or write, or rewrite, here I am.

I wish everyone on this platform great success. Here's to creating inspirational content that immediately soothes the psychic woes of the pandemic and real world!

Two thoughts...One, love you, my friend. Two, if you're reading this and you're not connected to and networking with Phillip, you're doing yourself a disservice. One of the hardest working and most inspiring creatives in show.

Philip Sedgwick

Love you, too, RB. And thank you so much for your kind words!! See you soon!

Philip Sedgwick this is one of the best post I've read on Stage 32 today! I wish it was a blog post! You've made some really great points here. And the second to last line is pretty parallel with my experiences. Actually, most is. In the past, I only wrote for TV only tinkering around with features. The hunker down forced me into taking features seriously. (getting out of my comfort zone) With the help of Stage 32, I've written two mini series and two features.( comedy and drama) Instead of wasting money on Amazon, I've invested in Stage 32 education and it's paying off! Blessings to you on ALL of your future projects!!

Philip Sedgwick

Thank you, Rashika. Here's to your writing flourishing!

Sandeep Sharma

Philip Sedgwick What an amazing closing line in your bio! Thank you for sending the good vibes!!

Philip Sedgwick

Thank you, Sandeep. I believe that's what we as filmmakers do. We exist to soothe the tensions of the world... to entertain into a more enlightened state.

Brooklynn Fields

2 features this year so far! Super impressive and inspiring Philip Sedgwick !! And you hit the nail on the head with RB, Amanda and the whole Stage 32 crew! Nothing short of amaizng.

Philip Sedgwick

Brooklynn Fields gotta do something to prevent stare crazy! And Amanda and RB are over the moon in the universe of awesome!

Richard "RB" Botto

Some of my favorite people on the planet in this thread...Love it.

Constance Hoarau

"Extra-terrestrial intervention equals relationship reconsideration." Oh man, awesomest sentence i've read today! Also, thank you for the positive words!

Philip Sedgwick

Constance Hoarau Thank you. Can you imagine!

Gene Eggleston

Hello Phil !

My wife and I have written six novels and are working on our seventh.

We would like to provide any of these to screen writers.

We are not looking for financial reward, only use of one or more

of our stories as the basis for development for film or TV.

For any one of our novels, we will happily sign over all creative and monetary rights to a screenwriter who will make a good-faith effort to adapt and develop it.

I would be happy to discuss the material with any prospective screen writer.

The novels are each available from Amazon Kindle for $0.99 each for evaluation.

These novels are not a series. Each has a unique plot and unique characters.

Our first six novels are described at www.genejudz.com

The following is a brief description of our seventh novel . . .

Fred Wildman’s fledgling legal career included involvement in three hanging cases, one as prosecutor, one as defense attorney, one as mediator between the hanger and hangee.

His accidental law firm was peopled by an intrusive disbarred mentor, a felonious legal assistant, a mentally challenged savant researcher, a boisterous black partner, and an investigative team he had recently prosecuted.

His cases, ranged from serious, to semi-humorous, to zany.

Through it all, because of a hitch in his career, most people he encountered recognized him as the ‘Smiley-Face’ lawyer. A dubious distinction, but one he embraced as his legal persona.
