Anna Henry's TV Pilot Writing Lab : Emotional content of a scene / emotion the audience feels by Cee Bruce

Emotional content of a scene / emotion the audience feels

emotion the audience feels  = total emotional content of the scene - the emotion the characters display o screen ---

after some reading i think the theory is that if the actor displays minimal emotion, the audience experiences the scene as the actor and feels their emotions; therefore more likely to keep watching. (I tease my wife about it, I call it "getting sucked in")  If the actor displays a maximum of emotion, the audience empathizes with the actor than experiencing that emotion.
