Introduce Yourself : Jim France - Actor and Voice-Over Artist, by Jim France

Jim France

Jim France - Actor and Voice-Over Artist,

Ladies and Gentlemen, it has been a while since I entered this Lounge. The reason? I think, mainly, because Stage32 concentrates its many efforts largely on writers. And unfortunately, that is not one of my strengths. Nevertheless, I read the many emails with interest, because they frequently are educational - for example, a couple of blogs about the Producing and Editing videos. That said, I have been fortunate during this eminently discomforting period of time. I have been able to expand my VO work, which I had not pursued adequately in-depth before. There have been 7 self-tape auditions, out of which I have a gig due to start, all being well, in September (But we'll see!) And I completed a print job for "Mr. Beast" on YouTube. It was nicely handled with appropriate social distancing and protective gear. Nice gig! Further, there have been numerous Zoom meetings through BackStage and others where one can learn from other actors, CDs, Producers etc.. A great addition to one's learning curve. So on that note, I hope all of you stay safe and well and that eventually, as this enormity vanishes, we will all blossom once more.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, Jim France! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage32. Nice to meet you! Thank you for the well-wishes, and to you, too! Congrats on the upcoming gig! Geez, were all 7 self-tape auditions for the one role?

Yeah, we're always looking way for ways to support all the aspects of the collaborative process - there have been several virtual table reads that have begun as part of the writer/talent Stage32 collaboration. Definitely scroll through the Acting Lounge and join in! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting

My intro blog may be a good way to relate to the Stage32 Community: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Find-Your-Community-on-Stage-32

Actually, I'd love for you to start a conversation in the Acting Lounge! What are your top 3 things you've learned during the lockdown? Where do you find roles - on your own or through an agent? What are your favorite Stage32 webinars? Pick one and start a post! I know the community would love to hear from your experience!

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!
