G'day,
My name's Danny Matier. I'm a writer from Melbourne Australia. I have 2 features produced (one of which I directed) and several others under option.
I'm determined to make far more use of this site and I'm interested in networking with other writers and producers, especially producers interested in thrillers with female leads.
The main genres I write in are thriller and horror, and since the world got turned upside down I've got to write a little more than usual.

Hi Dan, that sounds great. Congratulations on your films. I also think it is very cool to have thrillers focused on female leads.
You'd be surprised how easy it is, actually! If you need an equation, let's call it start one post and respond to three posts every day. It could take you 10-15minutes, so do it on your coffee break. As for content, what do you want to talk about? Do you need help with something or maybe just a little perspective?
Hi Kay. You have a good equation there and I certainly aim to engage and respond much more.
My issue is that I get my head into something and I lose track of everything else. Next thing I know, a month, a year has blown past. I love to write, other than playing with my two little children, it's the happiest place I can be and always has been.
I wrote reams of poetry, for years, before I ever turned to screenwriting. I never had any ambition to make any money from my poems. Poems to me were something that were given to lovers and friends. Pieces of my heart scattered among those I cherished. I know a bit of that attitude is still there when it comes "to selling" my scripts. It's part complacency and part getting on with the next thing. If that makes sense.
So, I shall log on here each day and at least engage with something.

I would love to hear about the process of going from page to representation, to pitching. I’ve only finished two features so far, but I advice from someone successful in the field could be a huge help. I’m interested to hear about the projects that you’ve gotten done. I’m always down for a spooky time!
