welcome. do you have a particular track you want us to listen to and exactly what type of feedback are you looking for? Keep in mind most of the people here are composers like you - so we can artistically help each other though we are not your target audience to market your tracks for film - that is a different lounge here.

Hey Joel. No I don't have a particular track. I just want you to listen to each of them. And I'm looking for any type of feedback positive or negative. And it's not about strictly marketing my tracks for film, it's about gaining new fans, listeners. With any music, it doesn't matter what the listener's field is. Music is universal and I just want to engage with people on here and possibly new fans who want to hear more. The title was to grab your attention. We all love music and I wanted to share mine in more ways than one. So I just want some feedback, if you don't like them or you do like them. It's about getting my products out there to more people whether it be a director or a sound engineer.

Commercial finished tracks are often picked up by music supervisors but in most cases these tracks have vocals or are recorded live bands. The type of music you have in soundcloud is probably better off parked in a 'library' site where filmmakers come and pay for your track to use (possibly broken into parts) as a inexpensive substitute for a custom 'music cue'.

I personally believe that any music is 'legitimate' and so there is a place for every track you have create. The question is, do any of the tracks have a 'place' in the soundtrack for a film. I can't give you feedback on that specifically since that depends on the director/producer, what is going on in the scene, and the audience demographic. For example a year or so back, I wrote a score three times and had all three rejected since it did not speak to the demographic - millennials/genx. You have a couple of tracks I listened to that lean more to the 'beats' genre which would work well with that group.

Now there are many ways we can market our 'wears', but what I myself try to do is label my tracks with what films they came from and to include only highlights and not the parts of the cues that would not make sense to hear without the scene. (I have scored 30 films so far). If I have non-film tracks, such as live jazz performances, I label them separately and put them below my film collections.

Some composers like to have a single 'highlight' track or tracks organized by type or fell - like an action highlight, a dramatic highlight, etc. And then there is this composer from Dallas who I know who scores music against a studio film (often an animation - beware of copyrights doing this) and then shows them in Facebook with his demo cues.

As far as feedback, I can't say what I like or don't without the context. For example, as a baby boomer, I am not a big hip hop fan, but that does not mean I don't listen and it doesn't mean my feedback is negative. Hear I like to give feedback on the nitty gritty - things like does it modulate correctly, what about the tempos and rhythms. The composing stuff....
