I am an editor, have made a bunch of shorts and have written a handful of scripts. My first feature 'Choir Girl,' a dark, confronting indie flick, in the style of 'Joker,' is about to be released on Itunes.
Interested in hearing if anyone has any advice/comments, especially to those who been forced to go down the path of self-distribution?
Stay safe people.
Well, no quick pointers, but an observation: self-distribution is really going to be the way things are from now on... So everyone is forced to do that and that will be to the advantage and profit of some of us who get good at it. It is always good and profitable to get rid of middlemen when possible.
True that.
I was wondering what was going to happen with the film. It's more an art house film because it's too confronting for mainstream. I'd probably go down that path. Did Lucinda get you any distribution meetings with Art house companies?
How are things with you Leanne? Luce is still waiting to hear back from the sales agent. At the moment we're reaching out to reviewers, and looking at some of the lower tier, cheaper festivals, to get some kind of traction. Odd though, movie isn't 'that' confronting.
