Hello fellow producers! I'm a sound designer and editor with a background in TV and film. Recently I've been slowly taking on more podcasting work, and have noticed with a lot of job opportunities that the roles of "editor" and "producer" become one.
Anyone on here with any podcasting experience or interest? Looking to take on more opportunities, but not sure how much I can provide on the "producing" front. All of my production experience is within sound.
Looking forward to anyone I can connect with--or better yet--have the chance to work with!

Ah, yes, the coveted "Pr-editor" position (although a TERRIBLE new title - LOL!). I'm curious, is this something you can do at a distance? Like, if I record something in LA, can you still act as editor/producer from Chicago?

That’s my belief Karen, or at least I believe that it “should” be doable. I’m seeing a lot of these producer roles advertising as remote; what their constraints are I’m still not sure. It would be interesting to see how others here on Stage 32 have approached producing from afar.

Hey, Kyle O'Connor! Do you know anything about ADR? There was a member in the Post-Production Lounge asking: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/post_production
Hi Karen. Yes, and I actually responded to Amy's other post in another Lounge. I was able to email her answers and everything. Thank you! Also, how are you able to tag me (or others) in responses?

The tagging is... in progress LOL! The site is being updated, but currently, it looks as if you can only tag if the person has already commented on the post or is subscribed to the lounge. Just start with the "@" symbol and it'll give you a prompt for who you can attach.

I created my podcast, PrinceofFreshAir in June through Anchor as a Host. I have learned alot about editing and producing the episodes so there maybe a couple questions I can answer!

Kyle O'Connor I've been co-producing a fiction podcast called Georgie Romero Is Done For (https://anchor.fm/georgieromeroisdonefor) and have also gotten a look behind the curtain on some of the podcasts I've done voice over or interviews for. Are you thinking a fiction/audio drama podcast or nonfiction like interviews, topical discussions, etc.?

To all of those who have commented...thank you! I send a connection invite so we can talk more.
Socks Whitmore Ideally I would LOVE to get into fiction/audio drama podcasts (and have been slowly), but I'm down to work on anything I can get my hands on.
Kyle I got into my podcast by pure luck only having 1yr of radio when I did my 90min audition the producer was so impressed by offthecuff audition she gave me a spot which would go into 40 countries with 100k listeners.
I have been attending lots of summits and will attend 10 day one podcast movement in mid o October
