Hey Amanda. I think it was a good start. I'm curious how @Raquelle keeps abreast on the latest information as to what studios, networks, etc. are taking and wanting?
Hey Nicholas Tana - Raquelle is constantly in meetings every day with these studios, networks, etc., as well as her clients who she is sending out on meetings with them. Raquelle is also part of tracking groups which share mandates and sales.
Makes sense, Amanda. Thanks for the response and information. I'd love to learn more about those tracking groups, too. I also forgot to ask in class when she said she sold a show, what that means exactly. Did she sell the option to develop a show? Did she sell a pilot or a series? There are many aspects to sales as I know you understand, too, but which might be helpful to specify as what is involved and what one expects to receive for them varies with each.
It was great! I like the focus on tapping into our creativity. I went to bed with my notebook and pen, and wrote the first thing that came to mind when I woke up. I wrote about the ocean and realized that this is the first summer in a lot of years that I didn't spend time at my second home on an island beach with my cousins. I shoved my sadness about missing it, somewhere in my emotional closet. Thank you for suggesting that we journal when we wake up. I'm excited to see what comes up next. I can't wait for our next class.
Warmest thanks to Raquelle and Amanda. It was great meeting all of you. I hope we can keep in touch. Wishing you all the very best with your creative careers!
Whew, that's a mouthful! I finally found our lounge. Where is everyone? Okay, better late than never. Basil, were you listed under a different Zoom acct. name, I don't remember seeing your name? That happened to me in another workshop. I forgot to change from my previous administrator's name.
This was an exceptional development lab. I learned so much. I've been busy streamlining my loglines for my four pilot ideas. I'm doing my character sketches, fleshing out the world, researching...all that good stuff.
