In this pandemic period it is so difficult for everyone, and it is also difficult for independent filmmakers. We see our projects blocked, funding disappears, filming disappears. And for those on the set, it is very difficult to respect all the anti covid rules. It makes you want to quit.
BUT we have to resist and take the opportunity to get inside ourselves and focus on important values.
I have chosen to make my own website where I can share my areas: travel, meditation, well-being, dialogue, human rights. And I write articles to stay lucid and help those who read me to do the same.
https://liabeltrami.it/2020/10/12/5-tools-to-cope-with-isolation/?lang=en
And in the meantime I concentrate on my next projects with enthusiasm. Remaining lucid allows me to think about the post pandemic and surprise them with crackling projects.
What do you do to keep from succumbing?

I quit for awhile - until all the covid dust settles down. Why fight a losing battle?

It's VERY easy to just sort of become a deer in the headlights, and just freeze up...get down, etc in this crazy time. I know I have. I do feel however, that there is a renaissance of sorts happening. People have to MAKE IT happen themselves more than ever. The amount of start-ups I see, and thinking outside of the box from people I know who are normally not as go-getters as many of us here on Stage32 are is so inspiring. Don't give up!

I keep busy. I started a new/old project. At the start of the pandemic I found an old comic strip I used to write/draw in college for the news letter. I decided to turn the character into a 3D image. While learning how, we went into full lock-down. I then decided to write a screenplay based on the comic. I finished the screenplay. Now I've created a T-shirt design and I'm looking into companies to produce them. I've had problems with the 3D animation so it will be some weeks before I can create the commercial that I want for the movie, so I can post it to YouTube. I'm so busy I barely sleep much less think about the human malware factor.

Brian, I'm stirrin' that renaissance pot just as hard as I can.

@Anthony Cool you went into unplanned “Transmedia Mode”. This virus has shot everyday projects in the foot yet some projects morphed, grew and changed in unexpected ways. I hope the tee shirt enterprise grows.

@Lia I agree with your phrase “Go inside yourself”. This situation forced by covid has caused us to un plumb resources we may never have tapped into before. The Art will out!

Thank you for sharing, Lia Beltrami! I recently posted in the Anything Goes Lounge a friendly reminder that you are not alone: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/anything_goes/You-Are-Not-Alone-in-Your-L...
That's how I get through - by finding ways to not be lonely by reaching out by cheering others up!

Thank you so much for sharing your thought. This foggy morning I'll go filming some social network short videos with a little bit more enthusiasm

I've tried to get to three hours a day of meditation. Mixed bag. Two or three good days, two or three not good days. When I'm working on a play and feel stuck, I try to get to a place of quiet mind to think something through.

I’m composing a lot of music, my latest project is called “Letters From Northern Skies”, a series of music letters sent to people that I love. You can listen to them here:
