Your Stage : Feature Film Pitch by Stephen Robert Faulds

Wayne Bookman receives a visit from his old school friend Brian Buffle who has recently returned from the 1960’s hippy trail in India. Wayne is impressed by the change in his friend’s persona from arrogant and self-centered to humble and spiritual. Brian becomes a guru to Wayne and a beachside household of itinerants, taking them on a journey though psychedelic drugs and eastern philosophy to develop a cult dedicated to establishing a utopian community on the north of Western Australia. Wayne’s struggle with his late developing sexuality is a distraction from the spiritual path and his celibate love for Lucy Wen is transformed into a carnal love for the more worldly Vanessa. When the utopian community disintegrates Wayne is forced to choose his own personal path, which leads him to Queensland communes and Indian ashrams then finally back to Lucy and an understanding of the true significance of Brian Buffle’s teachings.
