Hey all - Ky Rogers here; writer/director trying to get a couple projects off the ground. Finalist in the 2020 Screencraft Comedy Contest and the 2020 StoryPros International Screenplay Contest. I’m looking to have a career similar to Bergman’s or Kurosawa’s or Woody Allen’s or the Coens’ — I want to make about a film a year for the next thirty years and have them all be of a high artistic quality. Here’s the loglines for the two scripts I’m trying to get out into the market now:
Guardian
Michael Franklin — a black cop in a white man’s world — just made detective. But his first case is a firecracker: he must find a missing boy, plucked off the streets of Chicago, before the kid disappears forever. As he fights against time, he also battles the racist precinct he works for and is forced to confront the possibility that it’s impossible to be a good cop in such a corrupt world.
And No One Mourned
When a sleazy financial advisor is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he realizes that instead of wasting his time and money on flashy cars and fancy suits, he should’ve spent more on hookers.
