Hi guys, I'm in that 'yesterday I was triumphant and today I'm rubbish' stage, having just submitted a script for coverage. Think I'm improving. Definitely am. Aren't I? Oh my God, it's a waste of time! Wish me luck.

yes... always improving -- my first attempts at screenwriting were horrible... notes and feedback painful to swallow, ego shattered -- last week I made it to the Top 3 of the Big Break contest in my category (comedy) out of 13,000 submissions altogether

I feel you, Wendy! But trust me, it's a passing phase. Gotta believe in the work you do and then release it to the wild!

Hahahaha! It's like you're in my brain. You're definitely not alone on this rollercoaster. I'm right beside you, enjoying and loathing the process right along with you. I've just submitted my first completed screenplay to 6, or so, festivals and though I've gotten some great feedback from others on it, I want to withdraw from every one of them - thinking I'll never be good enough. Keep going! You'll get there!

Why a growth mindset is so important for longevity. Stick with it. We all start somewhere, even the "pros" have a hard time getting their scripts sold and produced. Plus notes are an opportunity to make your work even better. I need to take your lead and submit to more festivals...it is also waaay cheaper than attempting to make the movie before submitting.
