Television Characters

In light of today's class, I thought it might be helpful to talk about television characters from horror shows that were particularly well developed. One of my favorite shows of the last few years was The Exorcist. Themes of faith and family run through both seasons and the internal struggles of both leads are developed through those lenses.

Ah, still need to watch that! I loved how Penny Dreadful handled its characters. That show played with themes of identity and duality, and I thought both were effectively illustrated through the arcs of Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, and Billie Piper’s characters. I think “duality” is one of those themes that works really well under a horror lens, seeing as the genre is the exploration of the shadow and all that.
