Hi everyone. My name is Mauro. I live in the great white north, mid-western Canada. I've been writing for... almost a decade I guess (wow). Film Grad, working on my 14th screenplay now. I did a semester at New Line Cinema where I worked as a reader and helped the Head of Acquisitions with coverage and screening movies. That was an amazing experience.
I've recently wrote, directed, cut, and produced an indie feature comedy called The Pre-Drink now streaming on Amazon Prime. I'm really hoping this year is the year there's some real movement on my writing "career". I'm currently in a Screenwriting U class, and I did a one-on-one session with Richard Walter (UCLA Head of Screenwriting Dept. and Professor for over 40 years) on my latest screenplay, The Dessert Fork - which he loved and totally made my year hearing how much he liked it.
Would love to network and meet some other writers / directors who are making a real go of this career. Great to be a part of this community!

Hey Mauro and welcome. I'm from Canada too. Nice to meet a fellow Canadian!
That's awesome. Hey, guys! I need to get back to BC (lived there for a year, didn't quite work out, but I miss it). Awesome to meet other Canadians here. The script I just wrote is set in the culinary world and takes place in Vancouver and I'm trying to get some Canadian producers to look at it.

Hey Monica. Thank you, and thanks for the kind words. Yes, Jason has reached out and shared the link to the writer's room lounge -- I tried my credit card info but it didn't seem to work, I'll try again, but that feature looks great. I'll keep an eye out on any contests that feature exposure to representation / producers, for sure. Thanks again.

Hah thank you. It's very indie, but I was happy to get two comedians as the leads and tell a fun story.

Mauro - I watched "The Pre-Drink" on Amazon and I enjoyed it. There's some funny stuff in there. Noah was my favorite character. Very funny in the charades scene.
Hey Richard! Wow, thank you for the kind words, and hanging in there to watch the full movies lol. I know it's very "indie" but glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Noah was so much fun to write for and shoot. I wish I would have used him more, he's such a great contrast to everyone else. Thanks again for checking it out!
Mauro - Have you entered the film in any festivals?
