Back in lockdown I 'met' a genuinely amazing screenwriter who asked if I'd be interested in directing one of his scripts via a video call. Both terrified & thrilled by this idea I accepted and was introduced to actor Jordan Bernarde.
What followed was weeks of rehearsal and workshops where Jordan and I worked through the script exactly like we'd have if we weren't on different sides of the UK until we felt we had really grasped every beat of the story
To say that Jordan is one of the best actors I've ever worked with sounds, typically for me, over dramatic but he is one of those few genuinely super talented people that really listens and our working relationship felt instantly easy. His final performance, in my eyes at least is nothing short of magnificent. I then showed my good friend, and feature film composer, Andy Keenan our work and he instantly offered to score it for us.
With such great skills involved this little piece had a good chance of being decent but without such an incredible script it would be nothing. Luckily for us Rick is an incredible writer and it's testament to him and Jordan that we've had some huge name celebrity endorsement since popping it up online who have kindly retweeted and announced how moved they were to their followers.
