Yaseen Ali

Mistaken

Genre: Coming of age/high school drama

Logline: After the disappearance of his friend-turned-bully, a social outsider has to navigate high school and fight to clear his name from a narrowing list of suspects.

Synopsis: Matek takes photos of his bully Pete kissing another guy and plans to out him to the school, but ultimately doesn’t. Unfortunately, the photos are released around the same time Pete disappears. Even worse, a website accusing Matek of being responsible not only brings the ire of the school and the police, but puts his future at USC at risk. Matek is left with no choice but to find Pete and clear his name.

Any thoughts?

Hey Yaseen, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Introduce Yourself to Screenwriting, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

Nice work. Your logline makes it feel like it is contained in school. But your synopsis seems bigger and more expansive. I think your logline is not doing your story justice.
