I am really interested in learning about screenwriting. I have no formal training. All I have learned is from online courses, reading, and trying it out. It feels a little like asking for my stick figures to be hung in the Louvre. I don't usually give up when something seems like learning, though. Professionally, I am an OBGYN and a robotic surgeon. I have had a pilot's license for 15 years. I also play a lot of poker and in 2011, I won a WSOP bracelet (you can google it..). So, if any of you guys are writing about anything that needs my expertise, reach out and I am happy to help. I really want to network with screenwriters and pick their brains to learn and get better. Thanks.

Welcome! Robotics surgeon definitely seems like an interesting field. It is fascinating how robotics/tech has helped us make things more accessible.

I used Beavis and Butt-Head Do America: The Official Script Book to learn how to write my first script. Which won Best Fantasy Screenplay at the first Wallachia International Film Festival.

Welcome Geffrey. I think that the cycle or Read-Write-Learn-Output-Repeat is well-entrenched in our human experience but has become the norm for iterative software. Start with some degree of familiarity. Richard Buzzell said that you "operate on robots"? Well, then maybe write up a Sci-Fi scene where you are actually operating on a robot. One has been brought in, wounded, that recorded a National Security situation (think the TV series "24" maybe) and you're operating on a robot with mechanical and organic parts. Good to meet you.
