Amazon buys MGM - how ya'll doin' with that?

Amazon buys one of Hollywood's most famous studios MGM for $8.45bn

The deal will boost Amazon Prime Video's offering with about 4,000 films, including the James Bond franchise and Legally Blonde ...

Or enter in with Bezos having space firm bailed out ...possibly to use funds to finance the studio buy?

Where ya at on this - I'm in the words of the Alice from Wonderland 'curiouser and curiouser' !

Where am I on this - I really don't give a damn.

The hyper-consolidation of everything into a few firms is never a good thing. It drives mediocrity to new heights - brought to you by Brawndo. It has electrolytes.

Craig Prickett

A further move away from the theatrical release model.

There are lots of small time indie movie houses ready/willing & able to pickup the slack. Some are Pub style or Diner style movie houses. I've even seen a Winery Tasting Room/Movie house. IT may take a little while but it is already happening.

Richard Buzzell

Richard F Roszko - I think when the Idiocracy arrives, Brawndo will be a subsidiary of Amazon. Not to worry though, it'll still have electrolytes.
