Karen "Kay" Ross

Congratulations, Jack, that's awesome! What made you distribute it online for free? Actually, I'd love for you to start a post in the Distribution Lounge about how you came to that decision and why you'd recommend it: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/distribution

Jack Stockley

hey Karen "Kay" Ross I am using the film as a platform to raise awareness and funds to support victims of domestic abuse. Viewers can choose to buy a t-shirt or mug and the profits are donated between the charities. Happy to post on the distribution lounge too :)

Joanna Karselis

Congratulations! Such important subject matter, looking forward to giving it a watch.

Petra Pruitt

Jack - I honestly can't tell you how well done this is. Excellent work. So powerful and I'm about DM you so you can potentially submit it for review with Film Forums, if you'd be at all interested in that?

Jack Stockley

Petra Pruitt thanks for the feedback! :) send me a DM if you want to talk further. I am entering it into the festival run this year but it will be staying free to watch as we try to raise money for charity. Happy to discuss a post on your socials to support us, if you are?

Doug Nelson

Jack my honest evaluation (based on my strong feelings/opinions on domestic violence - I'm against it in any form whatsoever). I appreciate that you've moved away from the straight documentary approach but I'm not so sold on the slow drama approach - it does follow a 'rising action' structure and it's well produced in general although I'm not sure about your Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde type of antagonist. .Kudos over all for a fine production.

Petra Pruitt

See that's what I like about it. I've personally seen many abusive relationships and the abuser is often Jekyll and Hyde and also quite together and charismatic which is why the victim is often not believed because he's such a "nice guy" and it also makes the victim think they must be the problem because they "bring out" the bad in tjem. They are slowly and carefully manipulated into thinking that if they just do better then the partner will be happy and the abuse will stop and they can live happily ever after almost. The touching on cutting her off from her family and how isolated she is as well is very accurate. There a huge amount of psychological abuse before anything physical and it's what lays the groundwork for these small controlling behaviours to grow. Also rape is insanely common in these relationships and so is drugging to make the victim doubt their own mind. I respect everyone's opinion, I just have to say, from my experiences of supporting people recognise that they're in an abusive relationship, I genuinely think you captured the nuances of abuse in a very short period of time which is not easy to do.

Being someone whose met women that have had their daughters killed by husbands and boyfriends I know the need for constant effort being put into awareness so I cheers you for that. I also thought it was well made.

Jack Stockley

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching :) It's great to hear feedback from you all :D please share or link friends to the film, let's spark some conversations about it!

Kiril Maksimoski

Is "Lilith" the Lilith which came before Eve? If so, I'd expect some spicy twist at the end....my awkward humor aside kudos, it's good film for a noble cause.

Allen Lynch

Very well done Jack. Kudos!

Doug Nelson

Jack, you want me to include it in the Independent Filmmaker's Showcase tv program out here in Oregon?

Andrew Sobkovich

Well told story. Very thought provoking and disturbing. Thank you for sharing.

Jack Stockley

Doug Nelson thank you, that's a great offer! What does this involve and would you be able to share the website/Youtube link or are you saying to show it on TV? I'd rather not show the whole film on TV yet, as that breaks some festival rules. but happy to discuss it and spread the word.

Doug Nelson

Jack, that's fine with me as it'll be a few more months before I get fully operational in the studio so you should be pretty much thru with the festivals. I'm trying to establish a new film festival here in west central Oregon and I'd be glad to include it there - likely in the Fall.

Tasha Lewis

Congratulations!

Marci Urling

Congratulations Jack!

AJ McNamara

That is a truly brilliant piece you've created there. It's also eerily accurate. A job well done! In the bame if a cause vital to so very many.
