Welcome, Arin! Writing and editing are coincidentally the two fields of creativity I love the most!
Wally Wu thank you so much!
James Welday Thank you! I'm relatively new to editing (1yr) but I find it so rewarding and cool !
You're welcome! It was my major in Film School. I really fell in love with it.
Hey, Arin Leviti! Great to meet you and welcome to the community! Where in the US are you moving to? What brings you across the pond?
Oh, yes, writing and editing have quite a lot in common - what made you switch to editing? Actually, I'd love for you to post in the Post-Production Lounge with your story about what drew you to it: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/post_production Maybe you could do a post in the Screenwriting Lounge about what writing has taught you about editing? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my blog post on how to get the most out of the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!

Thank you for the tips Karen! I'll be moving to LA before a somewhat longish stop in New Orleans. It's always been a dream of mine, I can't wait for borders to open...

Ooooo, a little NOLA action before the LA dream! I love it! Also, a goodly portion of my family is from NOLA/Texas, so I quite love the city. Clearly, you have to get beignets from Cafe du Monde and ride a trolly, but most of the best stuff after that is just walking the streets and see what's popping. Oh, and try not to go during August. It is sweltering! LOL
