Marketing Help

Hey everyone,

So I recently released my film "PURGATORY" and it's free to watch here: www.purgatory.online - I was hoping to gain as much traction as possible, as the film is intended to raise funds for charities which support victims of domestic abuse, using the shop on the website to raise money through #breakthecycle branded sales.

However, the post-release marketing and just general "Spreading the word" is a minefield and like walking through treacle.

- The film has won several festival awards and we have many more festivals to close.

- We have also received 3 independent reviews with 10/10 from FILM FORUMS, 4.5/5 from SCREENCRITIX and 4/5 from UK FILM REVIEW - so the film has been well received.

- other than just using Instagram promotions, facebook ads etc, does anyone have any serious advice on how to get the film onto national media and/or the public domain.

I wanted to approach celebrities to share a post about the film, as it's free to watch and for a great cause, but it's proving difficult to get support. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance! :D

hey V.V. "Doc" Scott - thanks for watching and offering to help :) I'm just trying to get the film seen and discussed by as wide an audience as possible. I'd like to get on local and national news etc, (we're UK based FYI) and to get any and all endorsements and shares on social media. I'll DM you, happy for any and all help, cheers Bro

Are you looking for the film to be available anywhere else? So you just need to get more people to this one link? I feel like the more platforms they can watch it on, the wider you throw your net.

Congratulations on a beautifully made, powerful film. I think it could have global reach and would translate well in English speaking countries. Have you had discussions with organisations working in the space to use the film as an educational tool or a conversation starter? Say with a link in a media release, or though their website to your film?

I understand we are having similar domestic problems here in Australia during lockdowns and that family support services are under heavy demand. It may be worth exploring links to Australian organisations in the larger cities depending on how they approach this type of information.
