I would like some insight on product / brand placement in a script.
Many years ago I invented a multi-functional sports glove and created a sports brand around it called "Eliminator"
During this time I started to write my first script called " Big Expectations"
A rising Football (Soccer) superstar becomes a quadriplegic after a horrific car accident.
His only hope to get back in the game lies with one man, a former vivisectionist who gives him the chance of mobility and World Cup glory.
In this script I have the main character break his arm and use my product glove "Eliminator" to be allowed back to play in the World Cup.
The idea come to my from Under Armour being used in the move " Any given Sunday" from that movie when Jamie Foxx walks out of the dressing room Under Armour became a over night success.
For a first time script / writer would this be acceptable to producers ?
Hi Martin - I love product placement and using in my words "brand sponsorship" in the film combined with a social media promotion to secure funds for filming. If this is your first time, I would do the leg work for the producer and be hands on in creating the social media campaigns that run prior to distribution or in sync with a festival participation. There are so many fun ways to work with brands to partner with them for your film. You can do it!
