When I started my journey into the film industry, I wanted just to be a writer, but after an evaluation of what I enjoy, I found that writing isn't my focus. It is storytelling. Storytelling can take many forms; film, music, poems, literature, etc. So, I figured to start small, see what I like and what feels fun and natural. For my first steps into the pond, I'll produce my own book trailer for an upcoming novel. One 30 second ad and one 90 second add.
Any advice moving forward will be greatly appreciated.

I know the feeling. I'm much more of a producer/director myself. For your trailer, I would consider the moments that set up the questions/choices of your characters. Do you have comps? You could watch the trailers of those films and see what they are using.
