I can't write about myself in the first person so forgive me for the third person approach. Born in New York and raised in Virginia, Greg Beck writes “vividly gritty” crime and historical dramas for film and television. His work has earned him awards in several writing competitions including Austin Film Festival’s AMC Pilot Competition 2017 (Finalist), Scriptapalooza TV (3rd place) with the historical crime and espionage pilot 4-F: Operation Underworld.
Greg’s writing has led to work with producer Joyce San Pedro (Troop Zero). He also has worked as a co-writer on the American/Israeli political thriller The Nigerian Contract (currently in development) and with Lior Geller (We Die Young) on the historical action drama Here Be Dragons.
Beck’s ability to craft complex storylines comes from his admiration of 1970’s cinema of The Godfather, Mean Streets, The French Connection, the pulpy, serialized television of The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Hightown, and the works of James M. Cain, Dennis Lehane, Mario Puzo, and Flannery O’Connor.
His goal as a writer is to make entertainment for adult audiences that entertains, educates, and enlightens in that order.
Currently looking for new reps and gigs.

Great to meet you, Greg Beck! It's okay - first person is preferable 'cause it sounds like a conversation, but we can work with third person ;-) Oh, hey - I was raised in NoVA! Oh, wow - congratulations on your accolades so far, that's awesome!
Have you been pitching your scripts here on Stage 32? I would highly recommend it! https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

Congratulations, Greg, on your successes! I agree with your goals. Do you know any other filmmakers who do historical projects. I have an unusual script set in one room at a turning point in the French Revolution. It's tricky to make it entertaining, but a Zoom reading went well last September. Cheers!
