Hey Rodney, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Acting to Filmmaking / Directing (since you're asking about representation as a director, not an actor), as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions and all the best to you!
it's important when you're making big salaries. My college classmate is a DGA union director and he has commission fees to pay before money deposits into his bank account. Manager 10%, Agency 10%, Lawyer 5%, union dues 2%
No worries Rodney Luis Aquino, I just wanted to make sure you got responses from more directors. From my own experience, most directors aren't just directors. Representation doesn't matter nearly as much as what your secondary skill is (i.e. acting, writing, cinematography, art direction, asst. directing, etc.). With a secondary skill, you can continue to work between gigs. The only directors who work regularly are in television or commercials, so consider why it is that you are looking for representation.

Yeah, that would be nice if I had the days.
Hi Rodney, you have all the information here: www.dga.org
Much appreciated. It's one of my top goals

Some shows I have worked on have specifically mentioned I would need to be a DGA member and have representation to direct an episode.

Yeah, television is my goal at the moment. I'll work my way back into films later.
