What's the ballpark an options and purchases from an independent producer who's looking to sell a MOW to say Hallmark or Lifetime maybe in the half to $1M budget range?

The option can be any amount agreed to. Shoot for $1,500 for 18 months; purchase, looking at $30K-$50K.

I took "Writing Contracts" by Jordan Barel, through Stage 32's education program. I highly recommend it! He provides sample contracts for both option and purchases, explains what different attorneys are aiming for, and what you should request. I will say it's from a writer's perspective but there may be classes available specifically for a producer.

No, I'm definitely a writer and I'll pass any contract on to my agent, but I'm just curious what the ballparks are.
