My name is George Monteiro I am a filmmaker specializing in underwater production. I currently have a web series entitled "Shark Whisperer" about a young girl who befriends a shark. Even though it has gotten 100 million views on TikTok, it has been a challenge raising funds for the feature film due to the somewhat dangerous content (go figure) but I am forging ahead while developing other scripts. My good friend and long-time producer Rose Warner, who produced two of my films currently airing on Amazon Prime (Infidel and Highway to Hell) passed away several years ago and it really affected my work. In addition to deeply missing her friendship and encouragement, I am just now beginning to appreciate just how essential a good producer is, as a collaborator. They can tell you if you are crazy or you are on the right track and you will be a better filmmaker for it.
Filmmaking, as we all know, is a collaborative art form 50% art and 50% business and I am hoping to meet some new trustworthy collaborators both artistic and business-oriented here on Stage 32.
