Happy Friday!

Hi everyone, we made it to another weekend, yay! I've just changed the title and logline of my pilot script. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance! And, as always - I'm happy to swap scripts if anyone is interested.

Title: Charly Talks

Genre: Ongoing 60-Minute Serialized Drama

Logline: A broke Midwestern Gen-Xer moves to New York City to change her destiny, but debilitating anxiety and public speaking phobia give rise to a slew of dilemmas she’ll need to overcome if she’s to succeed.

Nutshell: Erin Brockovich and Fleabag try to make it in Sex and the City.

OVERVIEW

Charly Talks tells the stream of (inspired by true) tales that shape and enlighten Charly Varga, a young woman ill-prepared to change her destiny, but not about to give in to it. Charly’s like the early, struggling Erin Brockovich – smart, won’t take no for an answer, surprisingly capable – but without a smidge of Erin’s confidence. She’s (as the kids love to say today) relatable; she’s sympathetic, frustrating, and amusing. Her greatest weakness, like Fleabag’s, is her inability to form healthy relationships with men – but not for lack of trying – along with her loveable, complex, suspenseful subplot-instigating girlfriends: Kim, Lorna, Keiko, and Birdie. These women help keep Charly afloat emotionally and financially, and she repays them by championing them through some of the more difficult twists and turns of their own narratives, a la Carrie Bradshaw and friends.

Gilberto Villahermosa

Lisa - Love your Nutshell. Says it all. Sometimes rebranding a screenplay is what's needed. All the Best!

Dan Guardino

Lisa. Think it is a good title and I like those two cats.
