Introduce Yourself : Happy Holidays to All by John & Jamie

Happy Holidays to All

Signing off a really good year. All around with writing, directing and producing we finished several projects and finally got to see some of our work on a big screen at a festival. John's face has been in movies for years so seeing both of us up there was really cool! Our feature that we edited down pretty short was in several festivals as an "official selection" and that felt great. We finished several scripts between us and have two projects set up for 2022 that will suck up most of our year. It was a really good year for pitches in the industry. John appeared (in way more scenes than I realized) in the movie Red Notice. We shot most of our next feature this year and put it into post but had to do a lot to get it up to snuff. So that was a bit of a setback but not a terrible one. Being mostly self taught has a serious upside when it comes to being really innovative with technical issues but you cannot always fix it in post. Learning to do good work in chroma-keying was a huge thing this year. I put up a script at Austin that got a nearly gushing review in the feedback but didn't advance. In general, it was a great year and we had so much fun. John built our new back deck and expanded our fences on the ranch. He also built me my first ever art studio! And put a new barn up so I don't have to rent storage in town anymore. (Thanks, Ryan, Gal & DJ for that!) Nik (our teenager) directed his first short and that's up where people could see it. it's pretty simple but was so fun. Hope everyone has a great new year!

That's great news, John & Jamie! WHA?! Now I'm going to have to see Red Notice! Actually, I'd love for you to write about the experience in the Acting Lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting

Congrats on all of the success, John & Jamie. I have "Red Notice" in my downloads on Netflix. I'll have to check it out and see John in it.

Talk about prolific! Sounds like you have a lot of work cut out ahead of you. I put a script in Austin FF as well and received a terrible review (despite the same script placing 2nd at BHFF), but beggars can't be choosers. Wishing you a happy holiday!
