Great to meet you, Eric Barry, and welcome to the community! Oh, cool - we have more than a few people on this platform from Trinidad and Tobago. Wow, congratulations on your successful stage career - that's awesome!
You may have already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but I'd love for you to post in the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting) as well - maybe you should share a bit about what you love about writing and directing for the stage and some of your struggles transitioning that skillset into film?
You may also enjoy meeting like-minded creatives in the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) and the Filmmaking Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing). Also, I would highly recommend adding your profile picture, even if it's not a headshot. Members are less likely to add you to their network with an incomplete profile.
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. At the moment, I wrote and directed a short film, which will be screened at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in September. I am quite excited about it especially as I have been informed by the organisers of the festival that my film is in competition for Best Trinidad and Tobago Film. I am both surprised and honoured by this.
Regarding the stage, I have not done anything in this medium for some years, naturally because of the Covid pandemic these last two years, and also for the difficulty in raising the necessary funds in recent years. I do have a few scripts collecting dust and I am considering getting them on stage as at the moment, the public is hungry to go out and attend shows.
