Question about IMDb

Hello Everyone! Last year I produced a 15 min proof of concept pilot called 'Cray' as an idea for a TV series. I am using it right now as a visual for pitching. I've been submitting it to festivals and it's getting great reception, i'm wondering how I should list it on IMDb. Should I list it as episode 1 of a TV series or as a short film? It is unclear the future of the cast because if it gets picked up, all of that could change so I am hesitant to list it as a TV series as I currently have no plans to produce more episodes by myself. I want to list it somehow on IMDb so I can share the awards its won. Thoughts? Should I list it as a short film or TV series?

David Santo

You're doing the right things. List it as a short film. Keep shopping it as a TV project if you have a pilot script and series proposal. And connect with Original Content Studios on Instagram. They're launching soon...

If you list it at all on IMDB, list it as a short, as David Santo said.

David Santo thank you so much for the advice and reference!

Karen "Kay" Ross

Yep, as a short, since it's not the full-length pilot. Also, it won awards as a short film, right? You don't want that to be confused when showing off the accolades.

Sonia Sawkar

Karen "Kay" Ross thanks! Ive been submitting it as both tv pilot/web series episode and short film, its been selected/won awards for both categories so far. But i'm sure I can still post those wins under the short film on IMDb?

Karen "Kay" Ross

Yep! I would keep it as a short film until the series is greenlit just so you don't inadvertently lead people to believe there are more episodes readily available.

Ewan Dunbar

Agree with listing it as a short. It keeps things clear for anyone looking.

Jack Binder

Good advice here.
